Commission presents EU Action Plan on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence

The European Commission published the Action Plan on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, setting out a coordinated approach to the risks and opportunities that advanced AI poses for cybersecurity. The Commission will strengthen the EU's capacity to evaluate AI models before they are placed on the market in line with the AI Act, with this capacity targeted to be operational from 2027 in support of the AI Office's enforcement function. Together with ENISA, it will develop a "European Blueprint" for secure access to advanced AI systems and a secure testing platform for critical sectors (energy, transport, health, finance, public administration), expected to be available by the end of 2026.
