Czech AI Act bill heads to Cabinet after consultation, with two unresolved objections (DPA, NÚKIB)

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has resolved the inter-ministerial comments on the draft Czech AI Act implementing law (adapting Regulation 2024/1689; consultation ran 25 September–23 October 2025) and is submitting it to the Cabinet for review. The bill goes to government with two unresolved objections: from the Data Protection Authority (its role as a market surveillance authority and funding for new competences) and from the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (the scope of mandatory cooperation). The reconciled text has grown from 25 to 36 sections, adding an AI-in-critical-infrastructure portal for registering high-risk AI systems and specific fine amounts written directly into the law (previously just a reference to Article 99 of the Regulation). The supervisory authorities (Czech Telecommunication Office, Czech National Bank, Data Protection Authority), the notifying authority (ÚNMZ), and the 15-day-after-promulgation entry into force remain unchanged.
